Nofence Launches N3 Cattle Collar and Livestock Management Platform
Release marks evolution beyond virtual fencing to provide precision livestock and land management.
St. Paul, Minn., Sept. 2, 2026—Nofence, the company that pioneered virtual fencing for livestock, today launches the N3 cattle collar, which is lighter, stronger and has additional features compared to its predecessors. The N3 is the foundation of a precision livestock management platform that brings containment, herd health monitoring and land management together in a single system. Built for all terrains
The N3 is built to operate in rugged conditions and extreme temperatures. It is five times more durable than its predecessor and stress-tested in lab and field. Nofence backs this durability with a 10-year warranty on the N3 collar.
The N3 was developed using experience from more than a decade in the field that led to Nofence’s industry-leading 99.7% containment rate. That experience is also why the collar hangs below the neck, the most protected spot on the animal. The collar stays in position and includes a solar-chargeable battery that lasts even in low-light settings such as forests, valleys and high-latitude winters.
N3 keeps the producer connected to the herd through three independent connectivity layers: IOT cellular and HerdNet™, Nofence’s proprietary collar-to-collar communication network, backed up by satellite.

Precision livestock management
The Nofence platform, including the N3 collar, gives producers the ability to work proactively.
Reproductive management tools such as heat cycle scores and calving alerts are built into the same app as the virtual fence and grazing tools. Producers get a complete picture of herd health and reproduction without adding another system.
Nofence tracks individual activity and rumination, helping producers identify animals that need attention or find open cows with less in-person observation. The system sends calving alerts so producers can check on cows with purpose. Behind every alert and insight is behavioral data from more than 20 million grazing days.

Continuous visibility of cattle and their grazing patterns simplifies forage management. Producers can draw paddocks on their smartphones while cattle move and grazing records write themselves. Moves can be scheduled in advance and executed automatically, without needing to be in person.
Grazing reports capture key historical data, giving producers records they can use to apply for grants or demonstrate their management strategies for value-added programs.
Nofence producers can access their data at any time without having to request it, and they always own their data.
Tyler Chesshir is a West Texas beef producer who sees the benefits of managing forage and cattle in one platform.
