Regal Cattle & Sweet Briar Creative with Daniel & Alyssa Walsh
Welcome to another edition of the American Cattlemen Podcast. Just ahead we have the Publisher of the American Cattlemen, Gale McKinney, who sits down with Daniel & Alyssa Walsh. Alyssa, originally from Iowa and one generation removed from agriculture, discovered her passion through FFA and studied agricultural communications at Iowa State University. Daniel, who grew up in Wisconsin with a dairy and beef cattle background, also attended Iowa State where the couple met. After pursuing Alyssa for nearly a year, they eventually began their personal and professional partnership. Together, they’ve created multiple businesses including Sweetbriar Creative, Regal Cattle, and Tried and True Photography. Alyssa specializes in video production, focusing on creating emotional and impactful content for agricultural clients. Daniel complements her work by providing sale photography and leveraging his experience evaluating cattle. Their entrepreneurial journey began when they purchased two cattle females and developed a strategic business plan to ensure financial sustainability. Their mission with Regal Cattle extends beyond show cattle, aiming to help families transition from buying to raising heifers and building sustainable agricultural businesses. A significant portion of their discussion centered on bridging the gap between agricultural producers and consumers who are multiple generations removed from farming. They emphasized the importance of understanding consumer perspectives, meeting audiences where they are, and providing relatable, educational content about food production. Looking forward, the Walsh’s are focused on establishing a ranch in Kansas’s Flint Hills region while growing their businesses. Their core philosophy centers on taking consistent action, serving clients, and adapting to changing opportunities. They view their current ventures as vessels for building relationships and making meaningful contributions to the agricultural community. The podcast highlighted their innovative approach to agricultural communication and their commitment to connecting producers with consumers through storytelling and strategic marketing.
